Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Dr. Sania Nishtar says the government is taking measures to make Pakistan a social welfare state. 

Talking to PTV news, she said many steps have been taken for poverty alleviation and the government is focusing to protect and ensure fundamental rights of downtrodden people.

Dr Sania said the PTI government focused on short-term goals in its first year like poverty alleviation and provision of jobs to people.

She said on the instructions of Prime Minister, many steps are being taken for empowerment of women and a policy would be finalized soon to achieve targets for the next four years. – NNR/Khokhar
