A parliamentary delegation led by Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani held a meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku and discussed bilateral relations and regional situation.

In his remarks, the Chairman Senate said Pakistan is proud of its relations with Azerbaijan. He said both the countries are connected through religious, cultural and historical similarities.

Yousuf Raza Gillani said Pakistan desires to further strengthen its relations with Azerbaijan.  He noted that the high level exchanges between the two countries will help promote public diplomacy.

The Chairman Senate informed the President of Azerbaijan about Special Investment Facilitation Council and referred to the investment opportunities that existed in different sectors of Pakistan including agriculture, energy and mining.
