In India, security forces have launched a massive operation to arrest a prominent Sikh freedom movement leader Amritpal Singh.

During the operation, internet was shut in the whole of Punjab state and seventy eight supporters of Amritpal Singh were arrested.

Meanwhile, many Indian policemen were injured in a clash with angered Sikh community people during a raid in the outskirts of Amritsar, home to the holiest Sikh shrine, the Golden Temple.
