Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan has stressed the need to establish more stations of Radio Pakistan in remote areas to keep the people informed.
He said this while taking to Director General Radio Pakistan Saeed Ahmed Sheikh in Islamabad today.
During the meeting, they discussed the overall performance of the state broadcaster, the condition of its network across the country, and its historical role.
Discussing the role of mass communication in the country's overall development and prosperity, the Deputy Chairman Senate acknowledged Radio Pakistan's constructive contributions.
He proposed to further expand Radio Pakistan's network.
He mentioned that even today people in remote areas of Balochistan rely on radio. He proposed creating programs based on social values and traditions for youth and children, emphasizing the importance of providing better information to new generations to tackle modern challenges.
Syedaal Khan also encouraged Radio Pakistan to utilize modern technology as this medium can play a vital role in fostering harmony and peaceful coexistence in the society.
Acknowledging the historical and national services of the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, the Deputy Chairman termed Radio Pakistan a valuable asset.
Highlighting Radio Pakistan's role in facilitating communication with the public across the country, he commended its educational and informational programs.
Commenting on Radio Pakistan's historical significance, he remarked that in the era before television networks, radio was the sole source of awareness and information.
Besides, he emphasized reliance on better human resources and facilities.
The Deputy Chairman Senate assured the Director General of his full support and cooperation.
