The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned BJP government for its aggressive projection of Hindutva ideology in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas said the settlement of non-locals, sale of land to outsiders and forced demographic re-engineering are part of a calculated campaign to erase the Muslim-majority identity of the territory.
He urged the international community to force India to honor UN resolutions on Kashmir and preserve the cultural and religious character of the disputed territory.
Abdul Rashid Minhas also demanded the immediate release of thousands of illegally detained Kashmiris, including Hurriyat leaders languishing in Indian jails.
Meanwhile, Indian authorities, in their ongoing campaign to dispossess the Kashmiri people, have confiscated the properties of two more Kashmiris in Baramulla district.
Acting on the directives of the New Delhi-installed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, police seized lands owned by Abdullah Shah Bukhari and Ghulam Rasool Chopan under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
On the other hand, Indian police arrested a youth in Bandipora district for allegedly posting pro-freedom content on social media.
Additionally, Indian troops continued their search and cordon operations in Poonch and Kathua districts.
