Andy Burnham has become the United Kingdom's new Prime Minister after being invited by King Charles to form a government at Buckingham Palace.

He is the UK's 59th Prime Minister, succeeding Keir Starmer, who formally resigned earlier today.

Keir Starmer announced that he would step down as Prime Minister and Labour Party leader last month after a string of scandals, missteps, and policy U-turns blighted his leadership.
