Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has urged India to take the allegations of its involvement in assassination of the Sikh Canadian Hardeep Singh with utmost seriousness.

Talking to media in Ottawa, he said Canada is not looking to provoke or escalate but simply laying out facts as it understands and wants India to address the issue properly.

Meanwhile, the United States has joined Canada in calling for India to reveal what it knows about the assassination.

In a statement, US National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson expressed deep concern over the allegations referenced by the Canadian Prime Minister.
