Renowned Writer and Broadcaster, Muneeza Hashmi said that she misses her father Renowned Poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz during each and every moment of her life.
She was exclusively talking with Radio Pakistan Cultural Correspondent Sajjad Parvez and Sadaf Khalid in a newly launched Video Podcast series titled ‘Tea with Tomchees’ in connection with Renowned Poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s 38th death anniversary which was observed on Sunday.
Muneeza Hashmi said that she recently authored a book titled “A Conversation with my Father” which consists of letters written to her by her father Faiz Ahmed Faiz during his jailed days.
She said the work and poetry of his beloved father influenced the literary outlook of both Urdu and Punjab literatures.
Responding to a question, Muneeza Hashmi said that Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s poetry and prose focused on fundamental freedom, democracy, human rights which are the need of the hour.
She said that Faiz’s poetry is relevant still as it contains the ray of hope for every segment of the society.
