November 20, 2022

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Islamic Relief have signed a memorandum of understanding to support flood-affected communities in Sindh.

Speaking at the signing ceremony in Islamabad, UNDP Pakistan Resident Representative Knut Ostby said the aim of this partnership is to revive livelihoods and rehabilitate critical infrastructure in the flood affected districts.

He said an initial target of ten thousand cash-for-work hours will be set, with an increased focus on inclusion of women.

Simultaneously, rehabilitation schemes will also be identified in the selected districts that can be started immediately.
