Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has announced a grant of 1.5 million rupees for the month-long K2 cleanup campaign to lift garbage.

In a meeting with famous mountaineer Sajid Ali Sadpara in Lahore on Tuesday, the CM appreciated the professional skills of the mountaineer.

He said Sajid Ali Sadpara has made the nation proud by summiting K2 Mountain without oxygen.

Pervaiz Elahi expressed regret that climate change also affects the mountains and vowed to fully support the "K2 Clean Up" campaign to preserve the environment.

On this occasion the mountaineer Sajid Ali Sadpara thanked the Chief Minister for announcing the grant for the K2 Clean Campaign.
