Minister for Health, Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that polio eradication is a national priority and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is personally overseeing its progress through regular review meetings.
He was talking to Deputy Director for Polio at the Gates Foundation Michael Galway who called on him in Islamabad to discuss Pakistan's ongoing efforts to eradicate polio.
The Health Minister expressed his gratitude to Gates foundation’s continued support in the fight against polio.
He assured that Pakistan highly values the cooperation of global partners in this fight and remains committed to achieving a polio-free status as soon as possible.
Highlighting future initiatives, Mustafa Kamal expressed optimism about the upcoming polio campaigns and said that significant improvements in the polio situation will be visible soon.
