A six-member Malaysian parliamentary delegation, led by Malaysian Minister of Home Affairs Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail, called on National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at Parliament House in Islamabad today.

The Speaker stressed the need to further promote parliamentary cooperation between Pakistan and Malaysia. He said increased exchanges and interactions between the two parliaments would help further strengthen bilateral relations.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that parliamentary friendship groups could play an important role in promoting contacts and cooperation between parliamentarians of the two countries.

The Malaysian Minister of Home Affairs appreciated Pakistan's role in promoting peace and diplomacy during the recent tensions between Iran and the United States, saying Pakistan played an important diplomatic role in promoting regional peace.
