Chief Minister's Minority Card Program formally launched in Lahore

Pakistan’s first-ever Chief Minister's Minority Card Program was officially launched in Lahore today [Wednesday].

During the launch ceremony, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced that under the program, 50,000 deserving minority families will receive financial assistance worth 10,500 rupees every three months.

She said that the number of eligible families would be increased to 75,000, with the financial assistance amount also set to rise in the future.

The Chief Minister further said that the Punjab Government had received 100,000 applications for the program.

She said that the budget for the minorities affairs department has been raised by two folds.
