The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has warned about severe humanitarian crisis in Ethiopia's Tigray region due to intense fighting.

The ICRC's director of operations, Dominik Stillhart, said that the locals have lost their harvest season and medical care is insufficient.

About 100,000 Eritrean refugees who had been living in UN-run camps in Tigray have also been caught up in the conflict.
