Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has urged people across the country to participate in the symbolic gesture of turning off lights at 8:30 tonight to celebrate Earth Hour.                                                     

In a message on social media platform X today, he said lets unite to raise awareness, empower individuals and communities and inspire action to adopt sustainable practices.                  

People around the globe will celebrate Earth Hour at thirty past eight tonight, according to their respective time zones.

The celebration is marked by dedicating one hour time to protect the mother earth from threats of climate change and environmental degradation and raise awareness in this regard.                                     

The earth hour is celebrated annually by switching off lights, to let earth's environment and habitat heal from the damage caused by unnecessary consumption of energy.
