Hamza Shahbaz has succeeded to retain the office of Chief Minister of the Punjab by securing 179 votes.
Hamza Shahbaz of PML-N and Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, a joint candidate of PTI and PML-Q, were in the run for the slot.
Deputy Speaker, Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari presided over the session.
He rejected the all ten votes of the PML(Q) in the light of the Supreme Court's ruling.
He also read out the letter, written by the PML(Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in which he had advised the PML(Q) members to vote in favour of Hamza Shahbaz.
