Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has announced a plan to lay a 105-kilometer track for connecting Thar Coal to the railway network.

Talking to the media in Multan today, he said the proposed project will save two billion dollars annually.

The Minister said the railway system will also be modernized for the transportation of coal from Thar.

He further said an agreement worth 2.5 billion dollars has been signed with the Asian Development Bank for the upgradation of the Rohri-Karachi railway track.
