Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has registered 2617 new companies this year due to the support of Special Investment Facilitation Council which is six percent more than the previous year.

As a result, the total number of registered companies has increased to over two hundred and thirty one thousand.

Foreign investment attracted sixty one new companies, with China being the largest contributor with forty three companies.

The new companies will play an important role in increasing local production which will reduce imports and help reduce the trade deficit.
