Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has regretted the statement made by the spouse of PTI founder regarding Saudi Arabia.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Friday, he emphasized that Pakistan has long-standing religious and economic ties with the Kingdom. He highlighted that billions of dollars in remittances flow from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan. He said Saudi Arabia has always stood shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan in difficult times.

The Defence Minister said the statement was given to salvage the politics of PTI. He, however, said it also amounts to the contempt of religion and reflects their religious and political bankruptcy.

Meanwhile, in a press release, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam said spouse of PTI founder made false allegations against Pakistan’s friends which was an old tactic of PTI. He said spouse of PTI founder conspired to make Pakistanis unemployed abroad.
