Dr Zahid anwar Khan(IR Expert): Political instability in Afghanistan is becoming a headache for the neighboring countries and world powers as well. Pakistan has always supported collective efforts for the resolution of conflict in Afghanistan. Pakistani nation has rendered huge sacrifices in war against terror that was imposed on us. Our region is passing through turmoil since many decades due to worsening situation in Afghanistan. Our defence forces have rendered tremendous sacrifices to maintain peace in the country and the region. Pakistan is consistent in its resolve and commitment to fight terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Pakistani nation is resilient enough and will ultimately succeed in its commitment to counter terrorism. International community should support Pakistan economically and diplomatically so that it can effectively play its role to fight terrorism. Pakistan has done its best in its efforts to bring peace and stability in Afghanistan. But unfortunately the Afghan government is unable to control its land being used against the neighboring countries particularly Pakistan. If the Afghanistan situation deteriorates into chaos, the international community will no doubt be negatively impacted and that would be a disaster for the region and the whole world as well. The issue of women education in Afghanistan is also very vital and international community should engage Afghan interim government on this issue as well.

Lt General (Retd) Raza Muhammad Khan (Defence & IR Expert): Pakistan always has supported Afghan government on all international forums. Unfortunately, the Afghan soil is being used for terrorism purposes against Pakistan. This issue is very important and must be tackled at earliest to counter the growing menace of terrorism. Islamabad should engage top Afghan leadership to find some viable solution of this problem. Afghan interim government should understand the regional as well as international concerns and must take some practical steps to address them effectively. UN Secretary General also urged Afghan government to take measures and ensure their soil must not be used for terrorism activities against Pakistan.
