Renowned journalist and columnist Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami emphasized the deep connection between Radio Pakistan and the nation, recalling that the historic announcement of Pakistan’s establishment was first made on this platform.
He made these remarks while addressing a special event titled Nishan-e-Manzil, organized by Radio Pakistan Lahore to commemorate Pakistan Day.
During his speech, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami praised the resilience of the Pakistani people in achieving their national goals.
Highlighting Pakistan's achievements, he stated that it is the only nuclear power in the Islamic world and has won global recognition in sports.
He stressed the importance of investing in Pakistan’s youth, which makes up a significant portion of the country’s population.
Senior journalist Salman Ghani, also speaking at the event, reflected on the significance of the March 23, 1940, resolution, which united Muslims under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He emphasized that Pakistan has not only attained defense self-reliance but must now focus on achieving economic self-sufficiency.
The event featured a dramatic presentation titled March 23, 1940, depicting the historic resolution that laid the foundation for Pakistan’s creation.
Earlier, welcoming the guests, Station Director Radio Pakistan Lahore Dr. Ahmar Sohail Basra highlighted Radio Pakistan’s role in educating the younger generation about the sacrifices of their forefathers. Additionally, poet Wajid Amir paid tribute to the nation through his poetry.
The ceremony concluded on a patriotic note with musical performances by Muhammad Saleem Bazmi and Faraz Butt, celebrating the spirit of Pakistan Day.
