Pakistan's Permanent Mission to the United Nations hosted a prestigious farewell reception today in honor of Ambassador Munir Akram. 

The event was attended by Permanent Representative-designate Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Consul General Aamir Ahmad Atozai, Deputy Permanent Representative Usman Jadoon, officers of the Mission and their families.

In his remarks, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad paid a glowing tribute to Ambassador Akram, acknowledging his decades of outstanding service to Pakistan. He said Ambassador Munir Akram's remarkable legacy in public service would continue to inspire generations of Pakistani diplomats.

Reflecting on his extensive diplomatic career, Ambassador Munir Akram described his journey as long and challenging, yet deeply rewarding. He underscored the pivotal role of the Pakistan Foreign Service in safeguarding the country's national interests in an increasingly complex global landscape.
