Canada has announced a thirty-day ban on all direct flights from India due to COVID-19 cases.

Canadian Transport Minister Omar Alghabra said ban is implemented as more passengers arrive in Canada with positive test results.

He said ban will also be applicable on flights from Pakistan.

He said if travellers departing from those two countries take an indirect route home, they'll be required to show a negative PCR test at their last point of departure.

He said it will not apply on Cargo flights.
