Executive Board of National Accountability Bureau has approved to file corruption reference against former DG Press Information Department Chaudhary Rasheed Ahmad and others for attempting to cause a damage of 28.5 million rupees to the national exchequer.
The meeting of Executive Board of the anti-graft body was held in Islamabad on Thursday with retired Justice Javed Iqbal in the chair.
The Board also accorded approval of launching a corruption reference against former President Bank of Punjab Naeemuddin Khan for misuse of authority by doing insider trading in sale and purchase of bank shares and thus causing loss of 10.38 million rupees to the national kitty.
Two other references approved were against Secretary Karachi Port Trust Officer Cooperative Housing Society Ghulab Khan and former DG Sindh Building Control Authority Manzoor Qadir.
Addressing the meeting, Chairman NAB said first and foremost priority of the anti-corruption establishment is to take the mega corruption cases to their logical conclusion.
