In a move to enhance China-Pakistan cross-border trade, an international road transport route has been opened between Chinese city of Kashgar and Islamabad.

The inaugural convoy which departed from Kashgar highlights a fresh mode of cross-border transport and potentially setting a precedent for future trade routes.

The new route will also reduce additional customs expenses during cross-border transportation.
