Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan's steadfast support for Syria's sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

He said this in a social media post on X following his meeting with President of Syria Ahmed Al-Sharaa on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan's deep commitment to its historic and fraternal ties with Syria.

He said that we discussed strengthening our bilateral partnership through greater high-level engagement and expanded cooperation in trade, investment, education and information technology.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan stands ready to contribute to Syria’s reconstruction, economic recovery and the aspirations of its people for lasting peace and prosperity.

Shehbaz Sharif said we also exchanged views on regional developments, including the situation in Palestine.
