Karachi won gold medal defeating Chitral by 3-2 goals in the final of Futsal Tournament organized by the National Commission for Human Rights in Islamabad today.

Addressing the prize distribution ceremony, Caretaker Minister for Privatization and Sports Fawad Hassan Fawad, who was chief guest on the occasion, said that the sports landscape in Pakistan is changing with the participation of women in different games.

He said the barriers for women to participate in sports are also being removed effectively.

The Minister also urged the people and guests, who were present in the ceremony, to encourage women participation in different sports activities to materializing their dreams.

Speaking on this occasion, Chairperson National Commission for Human Rights Rabia Javeri Agha thanked all the stakeholders for making the tournament a success.

Teams from Karachi, Quetta and Chitral participated in this first ever Futsal tournament particularly organized to encourage female players under the campaign of “Empower Her” campaign.
