Russian forces has launched invasion of Ukraine after President Putin authorized a special military operation in the east.  

Russian forces fired missiles at several cities in Ukraine and landed troops on its coast.

Russian President Vladimir Putin in a statement said that he has ordered Russian forces to protect the people and appealed to the Ukrainian military to lay down their arms.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his statement said Russia has carried out missile strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure and border guards and explosions have been heard in many cities.
