In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that women are victims of atrocities by Indian forces on a large scale.
According to Kashmir Media Service, leaders of the Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir branch, Shamim Shaul, Syed Ijaz Rehmani, and Zahid Ashraf, said in a joint statement that the occupying forces are using molestation as a weapon of war to suppress the spirit of freedom of Kashmiris.
They said that in such a situation, it is eye-catching for the entire international community that since January 1989, over twenty-two thousand women have become widows in occupied Jammu and Kashmir whose husbands have been martyred by Indian forces.
They further said that Kashmiri women under Indian occupation are forced to live in an atmosphere of constant fear and terror.
They urged the United Nations to take notice of serious crimes against humanity being committed by India in the occupied territory and play a role in giving Kashmiris their right to self-determination as per UN resolutions.
