Prime Minister Imran Khan has said tents are being set up in Lahore as temporary shelters for the homeless sleeping on the footpaths.
The Prime Minister said this in a tweet on Saturday.
In an earlier tweet, the Prime Minister said he has asked Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to set up tents for people sleeping on footpaths and provide them food until Panah Gahs (shelters) are built. He said the move was necessitated by the cold weather.
It may be recalled that Prime Minister Imran Khan earlier this month had performed ground breaking in Lahore for the establishment of Panah Gah for the down-and-out segments of society who spend nights on the streets under the open sky.
He said that spots are also being located in Peshawar and Karachi for the shelters project.
