All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) says India’s repressive tactics cannot suppress the Kashmiri people’s demand for a plebiscite.
In a statement in Srinagar, APHC Spokesman Abdul Rashid Minhas said Kashmir remains a political dispute that cannot be resolved through military might.
He emphasized that threats, intimidation, atrocities and draconian laws cannot deter the Kashmiris from pursuing their freedom movement to its logical conclusion.
The APHC spokesman accused India of violating international laws by deploying a massive military presence equipped with nuclear and lethal weapons. He also criticized settlement of non-Kashmiris in the occupied territory.
The APHC demanded immediate release of all illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in various jails across India and the occupied territory. It also appealed to global human rights organizations to pressure India to release these detainees.
