Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Muhammad Tahir Hassan has reiterated resolve to set national broadcaster on modern lines through effective and informative broadcasts.
He was speaking as a chief guest at the award ceremony to honor the first woman station director of Radio Pakistan Peshawar Syeda Iffat Jabbar at the Broadcasting House in provincial metropolis.
He said Radio Pakistan has been effectively disseminating information on current issues, creating awareness and entertaining the public through news and programmes.
Muhammad Tahir Hassan also lauded the services of station Director Radio Pakistan Peshawar and staff members regarding promotion of regional languages and quality programs.
The Director General awarded the shield and excellence certificate to the Station Director over her outstanding services in the field of broadcasting.
In her address, Station Director Radio Pakistan Peshawar Syeda Iffat Jabbar highlighted the key achievements of Radio Pakistan Peshawar. She said Radio Pakistan Peshawar has been broadcasting quality programs on culture, religion, local languages and other current issues.
The Station Director Syeda Iffat Jabbar also handed over a cheque worth fifty thousand rupees to the Director General for the flood affectees.
