First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has emphasized the need for upholding international humanitarian law and protecting civilian lives.

Addressing a ceremony to mark United Nations Day in Karachi, she stressed that the principles of the United Nations must apply equally to all human lives, irrespective of geography, nationality or political circumstances.

In this regard, she made special reference to the suffering of innocent people in Gaza.
