Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza has said improving the health services is the priority of the government.
Talking to the media persons in Islamabad on Monday, he said services will be improved in the basic health units and the hospitals.
He said all the hospitals of the federal government including PIMS and Poly Clinic will be upgraded and computerized.
Meanwhile, government is finalizing an evidence based Universal Health Coverage benefit package in cooperation with the development partners.
A national discourse for the development and implementation of the package was held in Islamabad on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza said Pakistan is the first country in the world to use localized evidence on Disease Control Priorities and Burden of Disease to develop an essential package of health services.
He said the achievement of this milestone and implementation of the package in future will help the country in improving health outcomes and making rapid progress towards Universal Health Coverage.
