United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will hold a debate today during which its five permanent members will justify their use of the veto in future.
The rare and controversial discussion of veto power is being held in context of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The measure would make the five veto power holders i.e. United States, China, Russia, France and the United Kingdom to face repercussions if they opt to use their veto to strike down a Security Council resolution.
