The Prime Minister’s Task Force on Maritime Reforms is taking practical steps to improve the performance of Pakistani ports.

Reforms in the port system, modern facilities and effective administrative measures are being introduced to promote trade activities.

There is also a plan to establish a specialized world-class training institute to develop a skilled workforce for the port sector.

The introduction of modern equipment, CCTV surveillance and enhanced security has been proposed to make the cargo inspection process faster and more transparent.

Efforts are also underway to address operational challenges through modern portable weighing scales, regular calibration and the expansion of high-value cargo areas.

Special attention is being given to improving cargo handling at ports through additional facilities and better administrative scheduling.
