Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Allama Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi has lauded the announcement made by Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal for holding dialogue to end sit-in at Faizabad. He also praised the statement of the Army Chief for peaceful resolution of the issue.

In an interview with Radio Pakistan's News and Current Affairs Channel, he said we should work to strengthen the state and avoid confrontation as it is not the solution of the issue.

The Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council proposed that a committee headed by Raja Zafar ul Haq be constituted consisting of representatives of ministries of interior, religious affairs and law to investigate the issue of legislation.
