The 50th anniversary celebrations of Organization of Islamic Cooperation have started in Jeddah.

In this connection a major symposium entitled "Prospects for joint Islamic action"is being held today to discuss the OIC’s expanded role and increased commitments since its establishment.

The Secretary General of OIC Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen in a message on this occasion has said that the OIC operates in multiple areas and on diverse issues including the cause of Palestine and combating terrorism and violent extremism.          

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has already arrived in Jeddah to represent Pakistan at symposium and other activities.
