Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb has stressed need for reforms in ensuring transparency and accountability in government finances.

During his visit to the office of the Auditor-General of Pakistan in Islamabad, the Minister appreciated the performance of the Supreme Audit Institution of Pakistan.

Finance Minister was given a detailed presentation on the working of Department of the Auditor-General of Pakistan.

He acknowledged the need for revising AGP Act in the backdrop of 18th constitutional amendment, decisions of the Supreme Court and international best practices.

He assured his full support for establishing offices of DG Receipts Audit at provincial level to fulfill AGP's constitutional obligation.
