The 72nd martyrdom anniversary of Captain Muhammad Sarwar, Nishan-e-Haider was observed on Monday.
Raja Muhammad Sarwar was commissioned in Punjab Regiment in 1944.
He rendered supreme sacrifice for the nation and embraced martyrdom on July 27 1948 at Orhi sector in Kashmir war against Indian Army.
He was posthumously awarded first Nishan-e-Haider.
His insurmountable courage and unwavering loyalty will forever be an epitome of valiance.
Every bullet he took for country, for Kashmir, strengthens our resolve to defend Pakistan at all cost.
Commander Headquarter National Guard laid floral wreath on behalf of Chief of Army staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at his village Sanghori, Gujar Khan.
People from all walks of life and relatives of the martyr attended the ceremony.
It may be mentioned that Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed is buried at the Hill of Tilpatra which is near the Uri in Indian occupied Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has paid rich tribute to Captain Raja Muhammad Sarwar.
In a tweet on Monday, on the 72nd martyrdom anniversary, he said that Captain Sarwar Shaheed had made a history with his unparalleled courage.
He said the brave sons who sacrificed for safeguarding the motherland are the pride of the nation and the nation salutes them.
