The United Kingdom has appreciated Pakistan's important role in promoting regional peace and stability.

The appreciation was expressed by UK Minister of State Stephen Doughty during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in London today.

During the meeting, the UK Minister of State reaffirmed the United Kingdom's interest in maintaining close engagement with Pakistan on bilateral and regional issues.

The two sides also exchanged views on key regional developments, including the situations in the Middle East and Afghanistan.

They underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and continued engagement in support of regional peace and stability.

Ishaq Dar welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral ties and stressed the importance of sustained engagement to further strengthen political, economic and institutional linkages between the two countries.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance trade and investment, expand cooperation in emerging sectors, strengthen climate cooperation and promote cultural exchanges.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the important contribution of the Pakistani diaspora in the United Kingdom, describing it as a vital bridge between the two countries.
