Five-day Nanga Peer Tourism Festival concludes
September 27, 2022

In connection with the World Tourism Day,  a five-day "Nanga Peer Tourism Festival 2022" concluded at Bagh District of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The main objective of the festival was to draw people's attention towards the natural beauty of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

At the beginning of the festival, 300 bike riders and other tourists from Pakistan were welcomed at the Kohala Bridge.  After that, a flag-hoisting ceremony was held at Hans check post to express solidarity with the Pakistan Army and the martyrs in connection with Pakistan Defence Day.

On the occasion, various sports competitions were also organized.

Chief organizer of the Festival, Nisar Ahmed Shaikh, while talking to the media expressed regret that people of Azad Kashmir often enjoy events like Nanga Peer festival while people living in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are not even allowed to go to parks.

He urged the international community, including the United Nations, to exert pressure on India to allow Kashmiris living on both sides of the Line of Control to participate in activities like the Nanga Peer festival without any hindrance.
