Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif met with China’s BGI Group Chairman Wang Jian in Lahore to discuss a proposed MoU on cancer treatment and genetic research.

The meeting reviewed the public-private partnership to establish the Center of Excellence for Genetic Science and Biological Gene Bank in Punjab.

During the meeting plans were also discussed for establishing a gene sequencing unit at Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that by using modern genetic technology for cancer diagnosis and treatment, Punjab will become a hub of advanced genetic testing.
