The four-day Bahawalpur Literary and Cultural Festival began at Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) on Tuesday.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Renowned Intellectual and Drama Writer Asghar Nadeem Sayed said that Bahawalpur Literary and Cultural Festival is playing an important role in the promotion of arts and culture in the society.

Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr Athar Mehboob speaking on the occasion said that this festival highlights the various aspects of the historical and rich culture of Cholistan.   

He said media conclave, mushaira, sufi night, qawali night, books launching ceremony, rubaru sessions, human rights sessions with renowned personalities are the part of the event.
