Indian authorities have shifted over a dozen Kashmiri political prisoners from Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir to different jails in India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, over a dozen political prisoners including Hurriyat leaders have been shifted from Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu, Rajouri district jail, Srinagar Central Jail and from other sub jail to Indian jails of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

According to the World Prison Brief, India currently has the sixth highest share of pre-trial detainees in the world.

Bharatiya Janata Party-led Indian regime, while continuing their anti-Kashmir colonial policies of seizing Kashmiris' assets, has attached properties of five Kashmiris in Ramban district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian police imposed restrictions on these properties, preventing their sale, lease, or any form of transaction without explicit permission from the police or designated authorities.

This step is part of the Indian government to weaken the Kashmiris' economy and sentiments related to the demand of plebiscite and right to self-determination promised by United Nations resolutions to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
