Pakistan has officially accepted the World Trade Organization (WTO) Fisheries Subsidy Agreement with the support of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

With this, the number of countries accepting the WTO agreement has reached ninety four.

This will provide Pakistan with access to resources from the Fisheries Fund. In addition, this will also help curb illegal fishing practices.

The Fisheries Subsidy Agreement will enable the protection of marine resources and promote sustainable development.

Fishing activities conducted in accordance with international standards will enhance the value of Pakistani products in the global market.

The agreement will also provide the Pakistani fishing industry with modern technical support and financial assistance.
