NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has said there is a need for a political settlement to end the conflict in Afghanistan.

In a tweet message, he has reiterated the military alliance's support for Afghanistan as Taliban militants solidify territorial gains made during the withdrawal of international troops from the war-torn country.
