North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has unveiled new goals for the country's military for next year.

According to state media, addressing the meeting of the ruling Workers' Party in Pyongyang, he pointed out the "newly created challenging situation" on the Korean peninsula.

Kim also hinted at another year of intensive weapons tests and tension and said new core goals for strengthening self-defensive capabilities to be strongly pursued.

Meanwhile, South Korea has unveiled 440 million dollars plan to counter North’s drone invasions.

In a statement, defence ministry said the plan will boost military's might.
