Parliamentary Union of Islamic Countries has unanimously approved Pakistan’s resolution on Kashmir, that seeks reversal of India's actions of August 2019, and end to human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The resolution was presented by Deputy Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly Zahid Akram Durrani at the 17th session of the Parliamentary Union of Islamic Countries in Algiers.
The resolution urges international community to take cognizance of blatant atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, unionization of the territory and alteration of its political map.
It will now be taken up at the main conference during its final session today, and if approved, the resolution will be part of the final communiqué of the conference.
Speaking on the occasion, Zahid Durrani emphasized the need for resolution of Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions.
He said the resolution adopted by Parliamentary Union of Islamic Countries, represents a crucial step in drawing attention of international community to the ongoing human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the need for a peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue.
