In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, occupation authorities have placed senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest, preventing him from addressing a Muharram congregation at Imam Bara Bemina in Srinagar.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz was to pay tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and highlight the eternal message of sacrifice, truth, justice, and steadfastness.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that the Kashmir dispute remains the root cause of tensions between Pakistan and India and must be resolved immediately in accordance with the UN resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
